![]() This study also includes the Cost-Benefit Analysis on Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which is the basis for ESC technology, in preparation for its inclusion in the future rating scheme to expedite the vision of making ABS as standard fit in all ASEAN‟s passenger cars. ![]() Due to data limitation, this preliminary CBA assessment will only be focusing on Malaysia‟s situation and is based on published sources and the authors‟ best estimates. However, since these SATs are not being evaluated in their performance by the means of field testing, this paper explains the benefit of having these SATs through Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) which help to rationalize the importance of SATs in preventing road accidents or mitigating severity of injuries. In order for any assessed car to be eligible for the maximum 5-star rating, it should first be equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and fitted with seatbelt reminder (SBR). The newly established New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) has incorporated Safety Assist Technologies (SATs) in its automobile safety rating scheme. Meanwhile, CSS usage and acceptance, from the socioeconomic and sociotechnical point-of-view, can be considered as growing but still perhaps at the early stage. Both helmet and seatbelt usage are made mandatory by the legislature but the usage rates on the ground are found to be in a mixed situation. This systemic review looks at the status quo of those three safety items with regard to their usage benefits and issues, the related strategic programs, current legal framework, and the findings from related local research. to provide protection to the vehicle occupants during the crash impact phase. In the temporal view of road crashes, these safety items are meant for passive safety i.e. This paper discusses on three safety items – crash helmet for motorcyclists, seatbelt for adult car occupants, and child safety seats (CSS) for young occupants – which are highly reliance to the users' willingness to be benefited from the recommended proper usage. Human factors alone are responsible for being the main contributor to road crashes, in addition to the combined factors of human-vehicle and human-road/environment. In such a large system of road transportation, human factors play a very significant role in ensuring the desirable balance between the transport demand and safe operation. ![]() ![]() Thus, the proposed system offers health safety to children, pets and adults by implementing warning procedures about the situation. The DC motor of Car's glass window starts working if no action performed by owner. The data can be monitored in cloud at any time with the help of IoT. These sensor devices are connected to a microcontroller device which is able to combine all acquired information, and prompts alert messages to users with the help of a GSM module. The proposed system implements with a force sensing resistor, infrared sensors, a carbon dioxide sensor, a temperature/humidity sensor. Existing car seat detection system will either compromise privacy of people (based on camera), or fails to identify children sitting in the back seats from heavy stuff and keep sending false alerts based on pressure sensor. ![]() This paper promotes an innovative complete control system for car against children abandonment in vehicles. For detecting rear seat children, and sending a prompt and accurate alert to their parents effectively, a better solution is needed to avoid these preventable tragedies. In recent years, there is increase in the number of heatstroke deaths of children in vehicles. ![]()
